ARE ASIAN LADY BEETLES HARMFUL?
While Asian lady beetles are not considered harmful, they can bite and cause allergic reactions in humans. Allergic reactions can include eye, nose, or throat irritation, asthma, swelling, or welts.
Additionally, Asian lady beetles are considered to be invasive across North America. Initially invited by the US Department of Agriculture to control small crop pests, Asian lady beetles have recently been shown to contaminate soft fruits, ending them up on the invasive species list.
