WHY HIRE US?
OUR STORY
It all began in the fall of 2009, with a young man and a dream – to build a future for himself and his soon-to-be wife. Although our hero, Garret, didn’t always envision himself as “the bug guy”, he found that after working in the industry for a handful of years already, it allowed him to do what he loved most…to help people.
Upon entering holy matrimony in 2010, Garret and his bride, Karen, used their very opposite skillsets to grow the business. By this time, Garret had become quite the bug scholar and was the first line of defense between the bugs and his beloved customers. Karen, on the other hand, had no experience with bugs but had several years of sales and marketing experience and a MBA burning a hole in her pocket. They shared a passion for people and a sense of pride in their work.
Together, they grew their business to five locations throughout South Dakota and Wyoming. They strive to support each of the communities to which they serve by joining the local Chamber of Commerce, giving back to the communities and spending as much time at local events as possible!
Today, they are supported by a team of amazing and caring technicians and an office crew committed to making each and every customer experience top notch.
MEET THE TEAM
Owner, Pest & Lawn Care Tech
Garret, already a tenured pest control technician, founded the company in 2009. He wears many hats in the company one of which is our most senior technician. Garret grew up in Mobridge, SD and always knew he wanted to stay local after college. He’s the mad scientist of the group and enjoys studying various chemicals and how they work on different types of pests in our area. Garret enjoys hunting, ice fishing, re-loading, spending time outdoors, traveling, watching movies, and snuggling his cat “Gizmo.”
Owner, Marketing and Sales
Karen founded the company with Garret in 2009, starting as the "late-night" bookkeeper to now focusing on growth and customer satisfaction through marketing and sales. Karen grew up in the Mitchell, SD area, traveled the world, and now holds a primary residence in Mobridge, SD. Her favorite part of this business is the ability to help people find a resolution for pest problems that they didn't know could be cured. Karen loves to travel, listen to podcasts and audiobooks, spend time with family and friends and play the saxophone
Customer Support and Office Operations Manager
Cheyenne is the friendly voice on the phone and the brains behind our computer system. Originally from Mobridge, Cheyenne moved around a bit but ultimately found her way back and is the proud mom to her little daughter, Elenore. Her favorite part of the job is talking to customers on the phone and making sure they're satisfied. She also takes great pride in ensuring all the systems and processes are set up accurately within the company to guarantee that the business runs like a well-oiled machine. When she’s not at work, she likes to spend time with her daughter, listen to podcasts, cook, and ride her horses

Tyler is a lifelong resident of Wyoming, growing up in Buffalo, and currently resides in Sheridan. He is a proud boy-dad who enjoys spending time with his family and supporting his favorite sports teams in Denver. Tyler has quickly become a familiar face to our customers in Sheridan and Buffalo.

Alden has been with Pfitzer Pest Control since starting the office in Sheridan, WY in 2013. He has developed a thorough understanding of local pests and rodents over the years and is a wealth of knowledge. Alden grew up in Michigan and moved to Wyoming after high school, settling in Sheridan, WY for 30+ years. He is a proud father of a US Marine, Dylan, and has a daughter, Courtney, who just moved back to Sheridan, WY, and a younger son, Ryan, who is in High School. Alden’s favorite part of the job is understanding customers’ needs and ensuring their treatment meets expectations. In his free time, Alden likes to hunt, shoot, re-load, and read.

Bruce has been with Pfitzer Pest Control for five years, working in various locations throughout south Dakota and in Wyoming. He always has a fun fact and new information about our industry. He’s the glue of the team meaning that he’s always checking in on everyone and has a knack for putting a smile on your face. Bruce prides himself in staying organized and thorough, likely something he learned from nearly 15 years in the Army! Bruce has two grown daughters and four grandchildren, his oldest following in his footsteps in the Military as a member of the US Air Force. Outside of work, Bruce enjoys gardening, cooking, watching westerns, and spending time with his wife, Lynn.

Ashton joined the team after his high school graduation in 2022 and works Part-Time as he attends College. Ashton grew up in Mobridge, SD, and went to high school locally. During high school, he was very active in sports, being recognized as a top athlete in the state for football, basketball, and track. He completed his HVAC training in Rapid City during the spring of 2024. In his free time, Ashton enjoys hunting and fishing.
Lawn Care and Pest Control Tech in South Dakota
Trey has been offering a helping hand to the team during the summer months for more than five years. He is an Elementary School teacher and basketball coach first and seasonally works with our HQ in Mobridge to support us during the “busy” months. Trey grew up in Sisseton, South Dakota, and moved to Mobridge for a teaching position. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time with his children and fiancé.
Pest Control Technician in South Dakota
Jared grew up in South Dakota but sought out the sunshine, moving to Arizona for a number of years before returning home to South Dakota with his family. He has an extensive background in construction which has proven useful in this role. Jared still cheers for the Arizona sports teams and enjoys spending time with his family.
